Port St. Lucie man arrested for aggravated battery stemming from a “Road Rage” incident.
On April 19, 2016 Port St. Lucie Police arrested Charles Golden Fuqua on aggravated battery charges after he crashed his car into a three wheeled motorcycle during a road rage incident.
On April 19, 2016 at 3:25 pm, Port St. Lucie Police went to the 2800 block of SE Walton Road for reports of a road rage incident. Investigation revealed that a three wheeled motorcycle with a male driver and a female passenger was traveling north on Indian River Drive. They were being followed by a Ford Focus, driven by Fuqua. During the drive Fuqua continuously tailgated the motorcycle and was swerving in his lane. The motorcycle turned west on to SE Walton Road, and as he slowed to cross over the railroad tracks, Fuqua crashed his car into the rear of the motorcycle.
Fuqua exited his car as the victim got off of his motorcycle. The victim retrieved a gun from his motorcycle to protect himself from Fuqua. A Sergeant with the Martin County Sheriff’s Office happened upon the scene and separated the parties while awaiting the arrival of Port St. Lucie Police.
Upon conclusion of the investigation police arrested Fuqua for aggravated battery for crashing his car into the motorcycle. The female passenger of the motorcycle was taken to a nearby hospital for non-life threatening injuries stemming from the crash.
Fuqua was taken to the St. Lucie County Jail for booking.
