In another history-making move for the Fort Pierce Police Department, Police Chief Diane Hobley-Burney has hired the Department’s first African-American Deputy Chief.
He’s 50 year old Kenny Norris, a highly-decorated 27-year retired Tampa Police Department veteran.
Norris, who was sworn in as the new deputy chief Monday will be assigned as a Commander of the Community Policing Bureau. He will also oversee the Gang, Gun, and Violence Task Force in addition to other duties.
