An alert homeowner helped stop what the Martin County Sheriff’s Office says could have turned into a string of burglaries.
The woman claims that 20-year old Patrick Micklewhite of Loxahatchee was going door to door in her neighborhood pitching pressure washing services. She told Micklewhite no and he moved on to her neighbor’s house. But this time Micklewhite went around the side of the house. The woman dialed 9-1-1 when she lost sight of him.
It didn’t take long for deputies to find Micklewhite.
After a short investigation they determined that he had burglarized the home and had stolen some coins. It’s believed that Micklewhite could have targeted several other homes throughout the neighborhood, and the Martin County Sheriff’s Office is crediting the woman for being alert and notifying the authorities.
