On January 6 State Senator Joe Negron and two Representatives Marylynn Magar and Gayle Harrell held the 2017 Martin County Legislative Delegation Meeting.
There were two local bills that were introduced. Both Hobe Sound and Indiantown were represented to request that they be incorporated. If both bills pass then voters in each town can vote in November to incorporate. Both would continue to contract with Martin County Sheriff and Martin County Fire Rescue. This would offset the revenue that Martin County would loose if they incorporate.
This would allow the individuals towns to set their own zoning and building rules to grow as the residents intend. “We don’t want to look like South Florida.”Michael Ennis representing Hobe Sound said. He talked about self determination.

Interesting person in the back of the room was Mitch Hutchcraft. Mr Hutchcraft is the Vice President of Kings Ranch and also on the governing board of SFWMD

He is the person with the plaid shirt. In fact I recognize all these faces from SFWMD. As soon as Mr Powers was done with his presentation they all left. Look at the body language!
