Louisiana man in Miami for Spring Break charged with carrying a concealed firearm without a license

Port St. Lucie, Fl (treasurecoast.com) -On March 20, 2021 Port St Lucie Police Officers pulled over a black Jeep Cherokee after witnessing the vehicle cross two lanes of traffic on SW Port St Lucie Blvd, the vehicle was pulled over on SW Bayshore Blvd.  Officers made contact with the driver, Albert Charles Dunn (12/17/87).  Dunn informed Officers he was in Miami for Spring Break and is returning home to Louisiana.

Officers could smell the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle.  Dunn admitted there was a small amount of marijuana in the vehicle.  Dunn also informed Officers there was a firearm under the driver seat of the vehicle.  Officers located a loaded, unsecured 9mm underneath the driver’s seat.  The firearm contained a total of 16 rounds.  Dunn did not have a concealed weapons permit for the firearm.

Dunn was transported to the St. Lucie County Jail and charged with carrying a concealed weapon without a permit.  His bond is $7500.
