Hosie Shumann Park is a neighborhood park in Vero Beach, Florida. It is located in Indian River County near Indian River Memorial Hospital. The park provides a small community space for recreation and outdoor use.
The park includes a playground, a basketball court, and a picnic table area. Visitors can use the space for casual play, short visits, and outdoor gatherings. Hosie Shumann Park also holds historical significance within the Gifford community. In 1901, the land was donated for a school serving Black students. The Gifford School was later built with support from the Julius Rosenwald Foundation. The school served early grades and eventually expanded to a high school. It operated with support from local families and the community during its early years. In 1971, the property was donated to Indian River County and dedicated as a park in honor of Hosie Shumann.
