Santa Lucea Beach is a 5-acre, unguarded beach on the southern end of Hutchinson Island in Stuart. Managed within Martin County, the beach provides a quieter alternative to more developed public beaches in the area.
Access to the shoreline is ADA-accessible via a wooden boardwalk that crosses a natural dune system. Parking is ample and free, with designated handicap spaces available. The lot itself is sandy, consistent with the natural setting. There are no restrooms on site, but outdoor showers are available for rinsing off before leaving.
Here you can find plenty of turtle nests. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome. Swimming is at your own risk, and visitors should be mindful of occasional rock formations in the water. These nearshore rocks make the area popular for casual snorkeling and fishing, where visitors often report seeing fish, crabs, and shells.
