Another fatal car crash. One person is dead and four others are in the hospital following a two car crash in Stuart yesterday.
Police blocked the northbound lanes of U.S. 1 at Fischer Street while the Florida Highway Patrol investigated the crash.
Tuesday’s tragedy marks the 29th fatality in Martin County this year as compared to 17 last year.
Sheriff William Snyder blames an increase in aggressive driving for the spike in fatal accidents, and says his only option is to have his deputies begin pulling more people over in an effort to get them to drive safer.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind everyone that traffic this time of the year is extremely heavy.
