On Saturday the Stuart Police Department went around to 16 convenient stores around the city, checking to make sure that the businesses were checking IDs for alcohol sales.
A total of 4 arrests were made, all for selling alcohol to someone under the age of 21.
According to the Center for Disease Control, alcohol is responsible for more than 43-hundred annual deaths among underage youth, people between the ages of 12 to 20 drink 11% of all alcohol consumed in the United States, and more than 90% of this alcohol is consumed in the form of binge drinking.
