30-year-old West Melbourne woman charged with neglect
West Melbourne, Fl- West Melbourne Police Detectives have charged thirty year old Rachael Lynn Thomas with two counts “Neglect of a child” and one count of “Tampering with Evidence.” She is being held at the Brevard County Jail on $30,000 bond.
West Melbourne Police Detectives are actively investigating the deaths of two infants in the 100 block of Laurel Oak Street. There are suspicious circumstances involved. Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators are currently working with the Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause and manner of death.
The original call was received on Sunday, April 15, 2018 just after noon. Our patrol officers responded, secured the scene, and contacted Detectives.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges are pending.
