3 tractor trailers involved in deadly Turnpike crash in Martin County
Martin County, Fl (treasurecoast.com)- A truck driver was killed in a crash on the Florida Turnpike in Martin County on Friday morning.
The crash happened just before 6 a.m. near mile marker 133, shutting down all southbound lanes.Martin County Fire Rescue said one truck rear-ended another while driving at a high-rate of speed.

FATAL #CRASH involving 3 semi-trucks just before 6 am continues to block all southbound lanes of #FLTurnpike near MM 133 in Stuart.
Each tractor-trailer rear ended the one in front of it at a high rate of speed.
One #driver was trapped and died on scene.
Another driver was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and a third driver declined medical treatment.
#Diesel fuel and dried goods, like herbicide, were spilled in the collision.
Florida Highway Patrol is investigating, and estimates 5-6 hour shutdown. #fldot #martincountyfl #firerescue

FLORIDA TURNPIKE
A fatal crash involving three semi tractor trailers in the southbound lanes of the Florida Turnpike near Palm City is causing serious and heavy traffic delays. Southbound lanes of the Turnpike are shut down at the Palm City exit. All traffic is being diverted off of the Turnpike at Palm City. This is causing backups on Martin Downs Boulevard and Martin Hwy (SR714). Please avoid the area if you can, or anticipate the long delays. FHP is investigating the crash.
