2015 4-H Southern Swines Feral Hog Challenge Results

The UF/IFAS St Lucie County Extension’s 4-H Southern Swines 2015 Feral Hog Challenge was held Sept. 11-12 at the St. Lucie County Fairgrounds in Fort Pierce, rounding up 119 hogs weighing roughly 20,800 pounds.  Information about this event, including rules and awards, can be found online at https://www.southernswines.org.

 

Winners included: Heaviest Two Hogs

  • First Place ($2,500) – Emmett’s Eradicators (565 pounds) Members: Emmett Evans, John Huryn, Steve Mulvey
  • Second Place ($1,500) – Spur Land & Cattle (528 pounds) Members: Wyatt Carlton, Doug Boudrias, Aaron Hoo
  • Third Place ($750) – Evans Properties (512 pounds) Members: Ronald Edwards, Taylor Evans, Derek Whitis

Heaviest Single Hog ($250) Emmett’s Eradicators (305 pounds) Most Killed ($250) Evans Properties (36) Largest Cutter ($300) Emmett’s Eradicators (2 ¾ inch cutter)
