The 5th Annual 1K for Kids & Story Stroll is a community awareness event focused on supporting the local foster care system and highlighting the need for more foster homes. The event brings families, advocates, and community members together for a guided walk designed to educate and inform.
Participants follow a scenic 1K route through the park and botanical gardens while engaging with interactive storyboards placed along the path. Celebration stations are set up throughout the course to provide information about the foster care community and the process of becoming a foster parent. The event encourages community involvement and provides direct access to resources for those interested in learning more.
The event takes place at Pioneer Park, located at 2454 SE Westmoreland Boulevard in Port St. Lucie. It is scheduled for February 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Admission is free and open to the public.
