WinterGreen Night Lights takes place at the Environmental Learning Center in Vero Beach and offers an evening experience focused on illuminated nature, hands-on activities, and nighttime exploration. The event highlights the ELC campus after dark, with glowing pathways, activated exhibits, and family-friendly programming. Visitors can explore the boardwalks, aquariums, mangrove areas, and outdoor spaces as the property transitions from daytime education to an immersive nighttime environment.
The campus remains open for early arrivals, allowing guests to walk the trails and explore the learning areas before the lights begin. After dark, the grounds feature illuminated elements, seasonal activities, and access to select exhibits. Canoe experiences continue through the mangrove tunnels, offering guided nighttime paddles. Indoor and outdoor education areas remain open, including the touch tank, aquariums, art spaces, and the Nature Nook boutique. Staff and volunteers facilitate crafts, nature education activities, and additional programming throughout the property.
Food and refreshments are available for purchase on-site. A campfire area hosts s’mores and a family gathering space. A telescope station provides a stargazing opportunity when conditions allow. Raffle entries support the center’s programming and offer chances to win nature-focused experiences. Guests may also book private group evenings from December through February, with optional upgrades that include campfire programs, craft sessions, or extended access to indoor exhibits.
