Vero Beach Museum of Art 40th Anniversary Celebration is a special community event held at the Vero Beach Museum of Art in Vero Beach, Florida. The celebration marks four decades of the museum’s role in arts education, exhibitions, and cultural connection on the Treasure Coast.
This anniversary edition of the museum’s Second Saturdays program offers expanded activities and free public access throughout the day. The event highlights the museum’s past, present, and future through exhibitions, education, and community engagement.
Museum Admission and Activities
Visitors can enjoy free admission to all museum galleries along with family art-making activities and live artist demonstrations. Programming is designed to encourage hands-on learning and interaction for guests of all ages.
Museum in the Garden Presentation
Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer Brady Roberts presents a special lecture focused on the Museum in the Garden project. The presentation outlines plans for a redesigned campus that honors VBMA’s legacy while preparing for future growth. The project emphasizes accessibility, sustainability, and expanded community use as part of the museum’s most comprehensive upgrade to date.
Exhibitions on View
Guests can view the nationally touring exhibition American Made: Paintings and Sculpture from the DeMell Jacobsen Collection, alongside the permanent collection exhibition Construction: from Abstraction to Architecture. The Stark Gallery features Museum in the Garden: Envisioning the New VBMA, showcasing design concepts and long-term plans for the museum’s transformation.
Museum Studios and Youth Programming
Children and caregivers are invited to participate in docent-led mini tours through the galleries, followed by related art projects in the museum studios. These sessions support creative exploration through guided instruction.
Faculty Open House and Class Registration
Visitors can meet VBMA teaching artists and observe instructor demonstrations during the faculty open house. On-site registration for spring term classes is available with discounted pricing, excluding workshops and select specialty programs.
Community Art Project
Attendees are encouraged to bring red, white, or blue fabric to contribute to a collaborative community flag created to commemorate the museum’s 40th anniversary.
Music and Food Vendors
Live music is provided by Anderson Council, performing rock classics suitable for all ages. Food vendors on site include Space Coast Hot Dogs and Jeremiah’s Italian Ice, offering refreshments throughout the day.
