Tom Hooper Family Park spans 12 acres along the St. Lucie River. Established in 2003, the park features a lighted Riverwalk boardwalk, accessible from the entrance behind Walgreens at Port St. Lucie Boulevard and Veteran’s Memorial Parkway. The boardwalk, made from recycled materials, includes a solar lighting system and thermoplastic handrails.
Two wooden boardwalk paths lead through the mangroves to a 30-foot octagon observation deck overlooking the river. This deck is available for private event rentals. Fishing is permitted, with anglers commonly catching tarpon, snook, and redfish. The area also attracts a variety of birds, offering opportunities for birdwatching. The park also includes a parking lot for visitors.
Yes, dogs are allowed in the park.
