Storytime Jam

  • St. Lucie County Lakewood Park Branch Library, 7605 Santa Barbara Dr

Storytime Jam combines reading and rhythm for an interactive experience at the Lakewood Park Branch Library in Port St. Lucie. Kids clap, dance, and listen to stories in a program designed for children up to 5 years old, though all ages are welcome.

The format blends traditional storytime with movement and music. Children engage with stories through physical participation—clapping along to rhythms, dancing to the beat, and moving their bodies while listening. The combination keeps young kids actively involved rather than sitting still for extended periods.

The program builds early literacy skills while encouraging a love of reading. The rhythmic elements help children connect language with movement, reinforcing learning through multiple senses. Group participation also develops social skills as kids interact with peers and caregivers.

All library programs are free and open to the public with no registration required.
