Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter, Florida, was opened in 1998, named after its benefactor’s son, Roger Dean Chevrolet. It was built specifically to provide a spring training facility for the St. Louis Cardinals and the Montreal Expos (now called the Washington Nationals). Starting in 2012, the Miami Marlins replaced the Montreal Expos after their move to Washington D.C.. It will also occasionally host other minor league baseball teams affiliated with these particular franchises like the Jupiter Hammerheads (Class A-Advanced) and the Palm Beach Cardinals (Class A-Advanced).

2023 will bring about more amenities and a long-awaited Roger Dean Stadium renovation. This multi-million dollar renovation will bring great changes. Not only will the teams be getting new clubhouses, but new batting cages, bullpens, and scoreboards. In the meantime, the teams were moved to the Ballpark of the Palm Beaches. Ideally, the teams will return to Roger Dean Stadium in time for 2024’s spring season.

Stadium regulations state that no outside food or beverages can be brought into the stadium. This includes any bottles, cans, and coolers. They will make exceptions for those with specific medical or dietary needs or for those accompanying infants.

During their Spring training months, both the Miami Marlins and the St. Louis Cardinal have workouts that are open to the public. When these take place are determined by their Major League organizations and are subject to change so make sure to check the schedules.

There are 300 seats (pre-renovation) that are shaded. These are located in the 10 rows that sit in front of the press box and behind home plate. As part of the renovations, shade canopies are supposed to be erected along the first and third baselines.
