Pineapple Park Jensen Beach is more than 30 acres of outdoor space dedicated to recreation and natural scenery. Located at NW Hillman Road, Pineapple Park Jensen Beach features ample parking, as well as soccer and baseball fields.
In 2022, Martin County had a dedication ceremony for the opening of the Fred Ayres Memorial Playground. The Pineapple Park playground is 4,500 square feet of space dedicated to a children’s play area. The park is named for Fred Ayres, a prominent member of the community. The playground design integrates youth fitness and also features a permanent roof structure, air circulation fans, park benches, picnic tables, water fountains, and lighting. The Pineapple Park playground was an idea from the Ayres family, which they launched with their own donation. The late Fred Ayres was the owner of local eateries, Conchy Joe’s Seafood Restaurant and Bar, and the Dolphin Bar & Shrimp House.
Since there are lights and a permanent roof structure, the playground can be used by children and families in the community for extended hours.
Pineapple Park is located near Jensen Beach High School and the Jensen Beach Country Club. It’s also a short distance from downtown Jensen Beach and is easily accessible.
The park serves as a home for many of the area’s sports leagues, practices, and events. These include youth sports, adult pickup games, and more. As well as having sports fields, there is also ample green space at Pineapple Park for walking, running, and exercising. Morning yoga classes are common, and there are designated dog-friendly areas within the park. Facilities include accessible restrooms throughout the park.
