About Oxbow Eco-Center

Oxbow Eco-Center is located on the Oxbow Preserve, a site spanning 225 acres. The Oxbow Eco-Center and Preserve are located at the North Fork of the St. Lucie River. The Eco-Center is an environmental learning center, and the Oxbow Eco-Center hiking trails surround it. There are 3 ½ miles of available trails for the discovery of the wildlife of the river and forest. The Oxbow Eco-Center in Port St. Lucie, FL, often offers guided hikes and family-friendly educational programs. 

Other facility amenities include observation areas, picnic tables, and a landing dock for kayaks and canoes. The OxBow Eco-Center provides the opportunity to see what’s described as the real Florida, with wetlands and primordial swamps and scrub and pine flatwoods that make up the floodplain forest. Wildlife viewing can include wading birds, butterflies, and gopher tortoises, as well as sandhill cranes.

There are regular events at the OxBow Eco Center, like the Saturday Critter Crunch & Munch program, held weekly, where the animals are fed. There’s also the Pop-Up Nature program every Saturday, with surprise topics and crafts. These programs are free to the public and don’t require registration.
