Flagler Park is a prominent park in Okeechobee, Florida, running five blocks from Park Street to Highway 70. It is home to a variety of community events year-round, including the Speckled Perch Festival, and Labor Day Festival, and Art in the Park. The park is also home to a notable Veterans Memorial, featuring historical military artifacts such as an M60 battle tank, a UH-1 Huey helicopter, and 40mm cannons from WWII. The memorial honors local veterans from multiple wars, including Afghanistan, Vietnam, Korea, and the World Wars.
At the opposite end of the park, visitors can enjoy the Hamrick Butterfly Garden, which showcases large artist-designed butterfly sculptures and butterfly-attracting plants, drawing in a variety of real butterflies, including monarchs. Flagler Park is surrounded by historic buildings, restaurants, and shops, offering plenty of dining and entertainment options. With ample parking and picnic areas, it’s an ideal spot for both relaxation and local gatherings.
