About Delaplane Preserve Park

Delaplane Preserve Park is a 51-acre nature preserve that features restored native plant communities, wetlands, and diverse wildlife habitats. Visitors can also enjoy canoeing, kayaking, and paddleboarding in the park. The preserve also has a quarter-mile nature trail, which offers an opportunity to observe native plant species and wildlife, including the threatened gopher tortoise. Known for its deep burrows, the gopher tortoise plays a critical role in the ecosystem, offering shelter to over 360 animal species.

In addition to the nature trail, the park offers several amenities to enhance the experience. There is a fishing dock for those interested in fishing and picnic tables for visitors who want to relax. The preserve is easily accessible with a six-car parking facility. The Martin County Engineering Department restored the land to protect its ecological integrity, making it a vital space for both recreation and conservation.
