Native Plant Swap

Native Plant Swap is a free community event hosted by UF/IFAS Extension St. Lucie County, bringing together plant enthusiasts, gardeners, and nature lovers for a morning of swapping native plants, seeds, and horticultural know-how. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just starting to explore Florida-friendly landscaping, this is a welcoming, low-pressure event where attendees can expand their home gardens with locally adapted species that support pollinators and the natural ecosystem of the Treasure Coast.

The event takes place at the beautiful Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens, a stunning setting that makes the perfect backdrop for discovering the diversity of Florida’s native plant life. Bring plants, divisions, cuttings, or seeds from your own garden to trade with fellow attendees, and leave with new additions for your landscape — all at little to no cost.

UF/IFAS Extension has a long track record of connecting St. Lucie County residents with practical gardening education, and this event reflects that mission beautifully. It’s a wonderful opportunity to meet like-minded neighbors, ask questions of knowledgeable volunteers, and support sustainable gardening practices right here on the Treasure Coast. No green thumb required — just a love of plants and community.
