Annual 4th of July Patriotic Boat Parade and Blessing of the Fleet is a community Independence Day tradition hosted by the Fort Pierce Yacht Club in Fort Pierce, Florida. The event takes place on the water at the Turning Basin near Derecktor Shipyards and is open to both participants and shoreline spectators.
Vessels gather before the parade begins and proceed through the inlet at no-wake speed. All boaters are welcome to participate. Boats are decorated in patriotic themes for the procession. Boaters intending to participate are encouraged to notify the Fort Pierce Yacht Club in advance by email.
The Blessing of the Fleet is held as part of the celebration, honoring the local boating community and wishing safe seas to all who take to the water. The ceremony is a longstanding Fort Pierce tradition that accompanies the parade each year.
The event is free to attend from the shoreline. No registration is required for spectators.
