About Lakewood Regional Park

Lakewood Regional Park is a 156-acre recreation area located in Fort Pierce that supports both active and passive outdoor use. The park includes a mix of developed athletic facilities and preserved natural land. Visitors can access paved, gravel, and natural-surface trails that total more than two miles. Interpretive signage is located along the routes and highlights local ecology and habitat features.

The preserve portion of the park contains wet pine flatwoods and scattered depression marshes. These areas support native vegetation and wildlife such as mockingbirds, red-bellied woodpeckers, cardinals, catbirds, and armadillos. Trails pass through both open and shaded sections, allowing for walking, hiking, biking, and bird observation.

In addition to natural areas, the park offers organized recreation facilities including baseball and softball fields, football and soccer fields, pickleball courts, playground areas, and open green space. Picnic tables, grills, and pavilions are available, and select fields and shelters may be rented for events. Restrooms are located on-site, and lifeguard services are provided at designated recreation areas.

Lakewood Regional Park functions as a multipurpose destination for sports, fitness, and nature-based recreation within a single location.
