Members of police departments and sheriff’s offices throughout the Treasure Coast continued to try and spread holiday cheer right up through the weekend.
Fort Pierce Police Officer Jeff Wackendorfer had arrested Gabrielle Briggs less than a week before Christmas and realized that her family had nothing for Christmas. He and his family went out shopping and bought gifts for her two young boys and a Publix gift card for the family.
Later on Christmas night Officer Wackendorfer had leftover gifts for a young girl and donated them to another family.
Meanwhile members of the Martin County Sheriff’s Office surprised some children at a local park with a truck full of footballs.
