Indian River: 13-yo taken into custody after pointing BB gun at girls head

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY– A 13-year-old boy was taken into custody late Sunday after deputies said he pointed a BB gun at a 14-year-old girl’s head at a movie theater.

A teenager has been charged with pointing a BB gun at a girls head in a movie theater. Officials say two teenage boys were watching a movie at the Indian River Mall when they began playfully throwing popcorn back and forth with two teen girls. Police say the 13-year old boy asked his friend for the BB gun he had with him so he could show it to the girls. The teen grabbed the gun and walked up to the girls, pointing it against one of their heads. The girl didn’t know it was a BB gun and thought it was real. The two boys immediately left, but deputies found them in the mall, along with the black BB gun. The 13-year old was arrested Sunday evening and charged with aggravated assault.
